The Bay Area Cytoskeleton Symposium is back for 2020 !
This year’s Bay Area Cytoskeleton Symposium will be held online via Zoom from September 14-18 (2hr/day). We aim to bring together the many groups near the Bay Area that study the cytoskeleton and their diverse roles in a wide range of cellular processes. The meeting is sponsored by Stanford University in partnership with the ASCB.
The tentative schedule is to have 4 talks (20-min talk + 10 min Q&A) each day, alternating between morning sessions (10:00 am-noon) and afternoon sessions (2:00-4:00 pm), over five days to accommodate lab shifts. Dr. Sophie Dumont from UCSF will be our keynote speaker this year!
We are committed to representing the diversity of our community and will focus on generating a speaker pool that is racially diverse, gender-balanced, and evenly represents postdocs and students. We welcome you, especially trainees at all career levels, to submit an abstract for consideration of a talk. The abstract submission system managed through ASCB can be found here. The abstract submission deadline is August 19, and those selected to give a talk will be notified by August 26.
This will be the third installment of our annual gathering, and the first time it goes online. We hope to “see” all of you in September, and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions ([email protected]). We will follow up with more details as the time approaches, including registration information. Until then, stay safe and healthy.
